GLOBAL WARMING
PERSPECTIVE GRAPHS
by John Spritzler

These graphs of past temperature and C02 levels are useful for gaining a sense of perspective about the alarmist claim that human-produced C02 is causing CATASTROPHIC global warming.
Keep in mind that the dinosaurs and our mammal ancestors flourished during the Mesozoic period about a hundred million years ago, which appears on some of these graphs
Sea level change is also in graphs below.
The dinosaurs lived in the Mesozoic period, along with our mammal ancestors. And (except for that nasty comet) they THRIVED.
Now ZOOM in to look below at a) the most recent 1/2 million years ago (i.e., 500,000 years ago till the present), and in another plot b) from 2400 BC to present, and c) from 9,000 years ago to present, and ask yourself if what we're experiencing now is really unprecedented, and if there is any evidence whatsoever for the recent (July 28, 2023 from NPR etc.) hysterical announcements that "This is the hottest month in 100,000 years!"
The plot on the right is from https://www.researchgate.net/figure/Global-mean-temperatures-over-the-last-500-000-years-11_fig3_356606430 .
“Figure 35 (above). This is the longest known continuous measurement of temperature using a thermometer, from Central England, showing the continuous slow rise of temperature during the past 300 years. The exponential rise in carbon dioxide emissions beginning in 1850 has not been matched by a similar response from temperature. The spurt in temperature rise from 1694 to 1729 was longer and more pronounced than any rise since 1900. This gives no support for the CO2-caused climate catastrophe storyline. The CO2 Coalition has published a statistical analysis for the years 1900 to 2018 that clearly demonstrates that CO2 is not the cause of the temperature increase during this period. 97”

Over the last 11,000 years in these Greenland temperature and C02 data (above), there is no evidence that C02 causes catastrophic global warming.
As seen in Figure 1, (above) just over 55 million years ago, the global temperature appears to have risen by as much as 5-8°C (9-14°F) to an average temperature as high as 73°F (22.8°C). (Today’s 20th century global average is 56.7°F or 13.7°C.) At about the same time, data from fossils and ocean sediments record a massive release of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere, at least doubling or possibly even quadrupling the background concentrations. What is unclear is which came first; the temperature rise or the carbon dioxide.
Figure 1. Results from a Smithsonian Institution project showing Earth’s average surface temperature over the past 500 million years. For most of the time, global temperatures appear to have been too warm (red portions of line) for persistent polar ice caps. The most recent 50 million years are an exception. This all occurred naturally without human intervention, yet today it is said that humans alone are driving climate change by burning fossil fuels that release carbon dioxide into the atmosphere. Alarm is being raised over a global temperature gain of just 1.5°C, a study published in March 2013 concluded that global average temperature is now higher than it has been for most of the last 11,300 years, but it is miniscule to the natural temperature increases Earth has seen in the past.

The modern (1994-2004) surface temperatures in the South China Sea are colder now than any time in the last 6000 years. Except for a brief interval ~500 years ago, SSTs have been consistently 2-4°C warmer than today since the middle Holocene. [source is here]

The above plot is from https://www.drroyspencer.com/global-warming-background-articles/2000-years-of-global-temperatures/ , which explains how the data in it were obtained. It says this plot shows the "average of 18 non-tree ring proxies of temperature from 12 locations around the Northern Hemisphere, published by Craig Loehle in 2007, and later revised in 2008."
Also note that the earlier sharp rises in temperature were followed by large decreases in temperature, presumably not caused by the people back then deciding to stop burning fossil fuels that they had not even discovered yet, right?
HAS THE SEA LEVEL STARTED TO RISE MUCH FASTER AFTER WE STARTED BURNING FOSSIL FUEL?
The plots below show sea level rises during the relevant time intervals to judge this question. Take a look!
